Michèle Colburn (American/Swiss, b.1953, Washington, DC) is a multi-disciplinary artist who lives and works in Washington, DC.
Colburn received a BA in Art History from Franklin & Marshall College, in Lancaster, PA, and an MFA in Studio Art and art teaching certification from American University. She has been an adjunct art instructor for Arlington Art Center, American University, and Marymount University.
She has received several artist grants and fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, 2021, 2023, 2024 and from the Puffin Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, and American University.
Colburn has had two solo exhibitions in Washington, DC and one with The International Peace Museum, in Dayton, Ohio, with an international on-line exhibition with Ronewa Art Projects, Berlin. She has participated in juried and invitational group exhibitions throughout the mid-Atlantic, New York City, and in Los Angeles.
Her works are included in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, The International Peace Museum, the Fletcher Foundation and in private collections nationally and internationally and in Washington, DC and environs; Los Angeles; London; Neuchâtel, Switzerland; and Rabat, Morocco.
